Hazánkban a válság miatt a keresleti oldalról növekedni képtelen piacon a kiskereskedelmi szereplők a kötelező éves növekedést immár csak a piac újraosztásával érhetik el, ami a kiskereskedők között kíméletlen – horizontális – versenyt eredményez. Ennek eszköze az alapvető termékek esetében a minél alacsonyabban tartott ár. Ezért a kereskedelmi láncok és beszállítóik kapcsolata vegyes képet mutat. A nagy, tőkeerős, elsősorban nemzetközi élelmiszer-feldolgozók és mezőgazdasági beszállítók számára még így is jövedelmező lehet a kereskedelmi láncok által biztosított széles körű piaci jelenlét. Ezzel szemben a hazai szinten nagy, de nem elég tőkeerős hazai beszállítók alkupozíciója rendkívül kényes, számukra még veszteség mellett is létkérdés a kereskedelmi... The paper investigates the impact of the EU Biofuels Directive (BFD) on the EU agri-food supply chain using the computable general equilibrium model of the world economy named LEITAP. LEITAP is an extended version of the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) model including an improved land market modeling, substitution possibilities between capital and energy as well as between different energy sources including biofuels, feed byproducts of the biofuel production process and substitution between different feed components and feed byproducts. The simulation results shows that the implementation of the EU BFD has a pronounced impact on the markets of cereals, oilseeds and sugar and shows only a limited impact on production and consumption of other agrifood... The paper investigates the evolution from corporate social responsibility to supply chain responsibility via the examination of a leading UK food retailer. These two concepts differ substantially and illustrate contrasting approaches in terms of social responsibility development and application. A qualitative case study methodology is used where managers from that leading retailer and its suppliers, industry experts and representatives from professional bodies are interviewed. An observation of an ethical audit with a retailer’s supplier was also conducted. Findings show an example of good practice in the area of corporate social responsibility in the supply chain and illustrate the substantive progress that can be made in achieving supply chain... The traditional food supply chain is arranged as a complex array of producers, handlers, processors, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. As the food supply chain grew in complexity over time, little emphasis was placed on reserving information regarding the origin of raw materials and their transformation, often by multiple handlers, into consumer ready products. This paper provides case illustrations of the implementation of information systems for support of traceability in Europe. Emphasis is on the firm level costs and benefits as well as the broader market structure and governance issues inherent in information economics of the firm.
